MAXI HAM AND CHEESE EMPANADA
INGREDIENTS
- 250g whole spelt flour (or whatever you use)
- 140g lukewarm water
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon white wine
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
FILLING
- Serrano ham
- Eatlean original cheese slices
STEP-BY-STEP
- Place the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and mix. Make a well in the center, add the water, oil, and wine, and knead well until all the ingredients are integrated and the dough forms a manageable ball.
- Place it in a container covered with plastic wrap and let it rest for one hour.
- To make the maxi empanada or several smaller ones, take pieces of dough, form a small ball, and with the help of a rolling pin, stretch it to the desired shape. Then fill them with serrano ham and Eatlean cheese.
- Preheat the oven, and once ready, place the empanadas on parchment paper, brush with egg, and bake for about 15 minutes at 200°C.
